Pregestimil® A+® baby formula is an extensively hydrolyzed, hypoallergenic infant formula designed for effective dietary management of infants who experience fat malabsorption and who may also be sensitive to intact proteins, helping ensure she receives an adequate energy supply.

Pregestimil A+:

• Is hypoallergenic and contains extensively hydrolyzed protein
• Contains a special type of fat blend including medium chain triglyceride (MCT) oil that is effectively absorbed by babies with fat malabsorption
• Contains DHA, a type of Omega-3 fat and an important building block of the brain

Fat malabsorption (or steatorrhea) may be associated with cystic fibrosis, short bowel syndrome, intractable diarrhea, and severe protein calorie malnutrition.

Pregestimil A+ is only available in pharmacies behind the counter and is only used with a doctor’s recommendation. It can be purchased through your pharmacist or online at the Specialty Food Shop. Simply call or visit your pharmacy and provide the following bar code and item number:

Pregestimil A+ formula may be available through provincial drug benefits programs. Ask your doctor or pharmacist if you qualify for Regie de l’assurance Maladie du Quebec or the Saskatchewan Aids to Independent Living Program.
Breast feeding is best for babies and is preferred whenever possible.
